Spring Weather Brings Student Allergies
Ethan Edvenson Cartoonist Spring is here! The snow has melted, the weather is warming up, and soon the flowers will be blooming and the leaves sprouting. However, with those plants comes airborne pollen and which cause what most call “allergy season”. Trees are the main cause in the spring as they begin to release pollen in order to reproduce. Since this is the only way it can do this, mass amounts of it are spread right into the breeze. For those with allergies, when the pollen enters or comes in contact with their body, their immune systems react by making lots of inflammatory substances (AKA snot) and can cause a range of reactions. If you have these conditions, take allergy medicine daily, check up with a doctor or allergy professional if you are unsure of what you react towards, and try to refrain from being places where there could be more allergens.
