Josi Bambrook Columnist During the school week of April 27, sophomore students will have to take the ASPIRE tests. The tests will be held from 7:50 am- 12:00 pm and will either be in the multipurpose room or band room depending on the students’ last name. The tests will assess students in 4 main subjects; Reading, English, Math, and Science. The ASPIRE assessments will also give students a projected ACT score.                 All of the sophomores just had to take the Iowa Assessments and now the students must take more tests. Although this ASPIRE test might not show how the sophomore class is doing since many students, if not all, are tired of testing.                 “I don’t like taking tests. Josi Bambrook Columnist               As of April 1st the school will no longer be providing school lunch. The school district feels that it cost too much money and they will no longer fund it.              “I think it’s a great idea,” said lunch lady Betty White. The lunches are too much work for the lunch ladies and the board members are going to have the lunch ladies be janitors instead.            “This school needs some cleaning up,” said Principal Will Ferrell.  Students will now have to bring their own food or starve. Everyone will eat lunch at 1:15 and it will only last 10 minutes. Josi Bambrook Columnist The show choir dinner theater was on Saturday evening, March 28. It was for the show choir students and parents to celebrate all the work they have done this year. They ate chicken, green beans, potatoes, and salad. The dinner Theater was also a way for the seniors to share their talent one last time. “It was for the parents to pay money and eat, the seniors did solos,” said senior Christie Fest. The night was enjoyable for all of the students- full of singing and enjoying each other’s company. “It was a night full of music, friends, and family and it was one of our last times to play in front of everyone,” said Fest. The students talked to their friends and met with parents to talk to each other and appreciate the work that they have done. Josi Bambrook Staff Reporter Parent teacher conferences are coming up, so your grades better be going up as well! On Wednesday, March 11 at 12:30 to 7:30pm the high school conferences with be happening. This is the time when students try to push their grades up as much as they can before their teachers tell their parents how they’re doing. Conferences can be scary and stressful for students whom wish to please their parents academically, but for some it’s nothing to worry about. “My grades are as high as they have ever been,” said Pruden. With spring break coming so soon the students are starting to slack off and studying is becoming less of a priority. But some students have been on top of their grades and working hard, which makes conferences much less stressful. “I have nothing to be worried about,” said sophomore Libby Pruden. Josi Bambrook Columnist              In Biology class students are supposed to complete packets most days and work out of the book. It may be difficult for some students to properly understand the material if all they don’t get very much hands on activities.             There aren’t very many things that students are able to do in Biology but microscopes can be used for some of the things students learn about. All students learn in different ways, but there are many options that are available.             “Have the teachers show us visuals and teach it from there,” said sophomore Natalie Knouf. Josi Bambrook Columnist               The students in Belger's P.E. class were playing basketball today. As Mr. Belger sat at a semi-functional desk the students enjoyed a game of knock out as other students shot at the hoop on their own. The class was very independent, doing their own thing without needing the correct basketball technique to have a good time.             The game of knock out looked like a lot of fun. The students jumped and ran around while laughing when they missed a shot. Written by Josi Bambrook Columnist Students from elementary all the way up to high school are wearing pajamas to school as their attire. Personally, I do not think that wearing your favorite footie pajamas to school is appropriate. I have seen students wearing footie pajamas and pajama bottoms with t-shirts or hoodies to school. When going to school, you should dress with care. It seems that a lot of students, who dress without care, don’t really have a care for their education at all. When wearing pajamas to school, students might ask “Wearing pajamas is basically wearing sweatpants, right?” Wrong. Pajamas were made to be worn to sleep at night, not worn to school where thousands of people can see you. I’m not saying it’s completely wrong to wear your most comfy clothes to school but if we are going to do that, we should have a day dedicated to wearing pajamas.
