Written by Emily Merkle Design Editor Promise rings, a symbol of commitment, are becoming increasingly popular throughout our high school years.  Promise rings, however, don’t always mean a commitment to be with this person throughout high school and possibly lead to marriage, but also a symbol of chastity, loyalty, monogamy, friendship or a promise to oneself. Promise rings and engagement rings are completely different and should remain that way. The ring first of all, should not be placed on the left ring finger. This finger should be kept for when you are prepared to get married with this specific person.  Also, the ring should not have the appearance of an engagement ring, typically a silver band with one diamond. Crowds are lining up at stores just after they finish their last bites of Thanksgiving dinner.  Many Americans look forward to this day all year long, myself being one of those people. There is natural high that you get from purchasing a present for someone you  love, but it is a even better feeling when you get it for a good price. The sales on Black Friday allow you to buy a lot without breaking the bank. Some stores have sales that are up to 75 percent off items, which makes waiting in lines worth it. She’s wearing nothing but a bikini that leaves her boobs barely covered. She’s so skinny that her ribs are showing, and her arms look like sticks. I would call this girl extremely malnourished, but she’s part of the stereotype of beauty that society holds. This stereotype is formed by the media and negative people who have nothing better to do.  The media loves to show the stereotypical form of beauty. Wherever you go, billboards and magazines full of models can always be found. The women are tall, slim, and young. The men are muscular, hairless and can vary in age. Personally, I do not think that wearing your favorite footie pajamas to school is appropriate. I have seen students wearing footie pajamas and pajama bottoms with t-shirts or hoodies to school. When going to school, you should dress with care. It seems that a lot of students, who dress without care, don’t really have a care for their education at all. When wearing pajamas to school, students might ask “Wearing pajamas is basically wearing sweatpants, right?” Wrong. Pajamas were made to be worn to sleep at night, not worn to school where thousands of people can see you. I’m not saying it’s completely wrong to wear your most comfy clothes to school but if we are going to do that, we should have a day dedicated to wearing pajamas. Written by Demi Muchmore Editor-In-Chief Many people have different visual opinions on tattoos.  I personally believe it’s okay to have tattoos. I even want to get one, if not multiple, of my own.  People portray people who have tattoos as trashy or asking for attention. I think this occurs more in high school, but if you go out and get a tattoo of a cross or a quote you are now classified as a “basic” person. If you want to put a quote on your body, then go for it. I think people mistake these quote tattoos as something they are not. For example, a permanent quote tattooed on your body might be the only thing that will get you through the day.  You better think long and hard before you get any type of tattoo anywhere. At our age, most of us don’t know what we want to do as a career so if you go out and get a big colorful tattoo on your neck and later decide to be a lawyer, you will most likely not be hired.
