Prom Dress Giveaway

It’s time for the annual prom dress giveaway! Project Fresh Start is returning to the high school March 9-14. The dresses will be given away free of charge Monday-Friday 4pm-7pm and Saturday 9am-Noon.
Southeast Polk has been a participant in the giveaway for four years after administrative assistant Karole Turner was contacted by Dave Kissinger, the coordinator for Project Fresh Start. According to Turner the goal of the giveaway is to give people who could not otherwise afford it the chance to receive a prom dress.
To donate to the giveaway, all that must be done is to take your old prom dress to Turner to the front office by March 6 to give ample time for the dresses to be given to Project Fresh Start.
“We put out a broadcast to let people know that we are accepting the dresses and people out in community start bringing in their dresses,” said Turner.

The questions are centered on the material learned in the class throughout the semester. Stand for the Silent Posts Sticky Notes

Demi Muchmore Editor in Chief                 Notice the sticky notes on all the lockers as you’re walking in the hallway to class? You have Stand For The Silent members to thank for that. These aren’t just ordinary sticky notes, on every single sticky note there is an inspirational quote to start your day.                 During spring break, students that are a part of stand for the silent got together and made a sticky note for every single locker in this school. Mrs. Goodrich is in charge of this club and actually came up with the idea. “We did it to uplift people after coming back from break,” sophomore Cassidy Oberbroeckling said.                 When asking other students what they thought of the idea, they responded with positive feedback. “It was a very good idea and it was cool to walk around and see all of the different messages,” senior Nic Henderson said.                 Doing these creative messages can really help to brighten a student’s day after everyone

Jessica Rish  News Editor The meninist twitter account has been notorious for  putting out hateful content on  twitter regarding social justices like, gender, sexuality, race amongst other thing    Twitter is one of the biggest platform used in the social justice world. Twitter famous social justice accounts dedicate their feed through the use of hashtags, retweets, and tweet threads to educate and inform others on social issues.     Twitter does a good job of supplying a multimedia platform for educating thousands of people and raising awareness with the click of a button, but there is one main problem that can  often be seen  in social justice Twitter: “Dragging” or hateful conduct, can even be considered bullying or attacking/harassment.
