Hippie History Artifact Museum

This Monday the Hippie History classes will be holding an ‘artifact museum’ in the multipurpose room. It is a twist on the normal project the class has been doing for years, that involves other classes as well.
“Well originally we've done this project in hippie history since I've taught it,” teach Bob Knipp said. “The idea is to try to find something to link to the past kinda give you a picture of what your parents lived like or your grandparents lived like.”
Each student will have an interactive picture on thinglink.com along with a tangible item that has historical significance.
“These items that students bring in generally tell a story, there’s usually a story behind them,” Knipp said. “So we began to do that and this year we decided we wanted to try something a little different, and that led to the project were doing currently with the artifact museum.”
Social Studies classes from all over the building will be involved and will be invited to view and explore the museum. However there still some uncertainty, being the first time the project has been done.
“This is a first run, we don't know how it’s gonna go,” Knipp said. “It could be something that’s a part of hippie history forever or it could be a one and done, we’ll have to see how it goes.”
