Guest Panel to Composition & Media Literacy Classes

Students who are involved in the school newspaper (Rampage) presented to Shannon Boshart’s composition and media literacy classes.
The Rampage staff sat at the front of the class and introduced themselves. Each staff member said their name, grade, title, and how long they have participated in the paper.
Boshart had her students write down different questions that they wanted to ask the Rampage staff. The Rampage staff went over the process of how they come up with ideas and how they design pages.
The staff then drew out the different notecards from a box and read the questions out loud.
“What’s fun about Rampage?” asked sophomore Sydney Sears. The Rampage staff went down the line of students and gave their own opinions and answers back to the media literacy students.
“Would you consider Rampage to be a harder class?” asked freshman Macy Armantrout.  Media literacy students wrote down direct quotes from the staff to prepare them for writing their next article.
As the Rampage staff presented they were also trying to convince other students to join the paper next year.
