In biology students at Southeast
Polk high school are learning how to make 16 and four squared Punnett Squares.
According to askabiologist.asu.edu, Punnett
squares are useful tools for predicting what the offspring will look like when
mating plants or animals.
One of the teachers teaching this is Brian Robison. Sophomore Marisa
Young is in his eighth period biology class.
“They’re easy and a basic science skill,” said Young. “I don’t mind, I
think they are easy.”
The students are learning about genetics and how relate to DNA. Using the Punnett Square, students had fun predicting
what their kids might look like.
